Biofreeze works better than any other pain relief gels I've tried. I've used it on my back, neck, shoulders, and wrist, and it very quickly relieves pain and it lasts a while, too. Also it doesn't burn me, like Icy Hot did, and it also disappears quickly into the skin (it becomes invisible, and it's not sticky either). I tried using Freeze It, but it just wasn't as good, and I also tried "natural" gels like Trameel and Body Time's anti-inflamatory gel, but they didn't do anything for me. Rub the Biofreeze into the achy joint or muscle until it is completely absorbed. You can apply 2-3 layers if you need, just wait until each application has dried before applying another one.
